Exotic Hawaii isn't usually thought of a place to live year-round, instead having obtained a reputation only as a tourist location. The high prices that tourists usually see in Hawaii are the largest reason that a person might shoot down any ideas about moving to Hawaii. It's a little known fact that if you're an official Hawaii resident, you'll get discounted prices on food, transportation, and other things that you might need. Additionally, almost all of the items and products that you'll find along the Hawaiian Islands need to be imported, so these higher prices are necessary.

There's no place that beats the climate of Hawaii, which has sun during the daylight hours, and rain after you've gone to sleep. You'll never have a problem finding leisure and recreation, as the island is dedicated to having a great time. Because Hawaii's dominant source of revenue comes directly from tourism, it's apparent that life in Hawaii can feel like an never-ending vacation.

If you're considering moving to Hawaii, it's advisable to take a trip and spend some time on all eight islands before you settle on one, as the pace of life can be very different depending on the island you choose. Oahu, which contains Hawaii's capital city, is probably the most fun island to spend time on. In terms of typical cities, Oahu is the most 'normal', as it features all of the facilities that people of the world have come to expect form cities. The other islands tend to be much calmer, and have much smaller populations.
